It would not have been that long a job, 8 hours at the most as it would happily stick at 45 mph on the flat whether towing or not, in its preservation days it towed my Harrington Cavalier back from East London, and the Bamber Bridge Regent back from the Dunbar rally east of Edinburgh when No 4 blew a piston. I quite happily drove it most of the way down the A49 then A5 in convoy with BBMS No 4 and a Blackburn Guy overnight on a Friday to attend a rally at Ensign followed by the London - Brighton run on the Sunday returning overnight Sunday from Brighton back to Blackburn. I much preferred driving BD1 to No 4 whose gearbox I could never master.
The RVPG Blackburn branch were much more adventurous in the rallies they attended than the Carnforth branch.
Happy days !!
