[
attachment=971] 1036 attended the rally at Kirkby Stephen on Sunday, 04.04.10. On arrival,
1036 was requested to park up at Kirkby Stephen East railway station - home of the Stainmore Railway.
[
attachment=972] Renowned for being a bit smokey, 1036 seemed to be smoking from both sides.
[
attachment=973] Not totally guilty. Much of the smoke was coming from one of the Stainmore
Railway's Class 37s

Happy to be able to report that 1036 passed MOT test today at Martins of Middlewich.

[

1442 is due to end her days as the Meadow Farm Playbus in about two weeks and will be 'withdrawn for disposal'.
She is to be replaced as the Meadow Farm Playbus by former Stagecoach Ribble, Alexander bodied Leyland Olympian
2187, (G187JHG).
24.08.10.
With the vehicle lifts at Freckleton becoming available, the opportunity has been taken to
start investigations into 1036s smokey exhaust.
[
attachment=1154] 1036 seen up on the lifts.
[
attachment=1155] Stripping down of the engine has started.
The 'head' has gone for pressure testing, and remedial action if required.
Other parts which are removed will be cleaned/refurbished/re-painted etc before being put back.
[
attachment=1177]
The heads have been pressure tested and skimmed where required.
[
attachment=1178]
All the 'parts' required to hold everything together have been cleaned
up ready for re-fitting.
Any chance of using this vehicle (the immaculate Harrington), for the members day in March? Please? It will bring back many memories for me and is a pround ambassador for RVPG. Thank you.
Regards,
Mike from Norwich

It has not yet been decided which vehicle(s) will be used for the Members Annual Meeting on 19.03.11.
[
attachment=1314] 1036 is still undergoing a major engine overhaul.
It is hoped that this will be completed within the next week or so.
[
attachment=1313] Outstanding work comprises the manufacture and
installation of a compressor pipe, minor touching up of silver paintwork, timing check,
test running and road testing.
27.02.11.
1036 went out for a road test today.
We took her to the premises of G-Line Coaches at Stalmine, near Fleetwood. The journeys there and back were
uneventful, the excessive smoke problem seems to have been resolved.
On return to Freckleton, 1036 was put up on the ramp for an inspection of the engine. All was in order with no
sign of anything untoward.
