Hello John

The Ribble Leyland Titan PD2/3 / East Lancs 'White Lady' vehicles were:
1231 - 1250 (DCK202 - 221).
They had been new to Ribble in 1950 - 1951.

There was an earlier batch on Leyland Titan PD1/3 chassis with Burlingham
bodywork which were new in 1948 - 1949:
2518 - 2547 (BRN261 - 290).

1248 (DCK219) is preserved and now lives in Somerset. She came 'up North'
a couple of years ago and we took the opportunity to photograph her at the
Kirkby Stephen Rally with Atlantean White Lady 1249, (RRN248).

Hello John,
The vehicle owned by your father was 1206 BRN 266 withdrawn by Ribble in 1959 it is recorded as passing to Blundell's Coaches(Southport) Ltd in 12/1959 then to Lawrenson's Travel, Bootle 1/1964 then to D.R. Milburn, Benllech Bay 7/1964, last licensed 12/1964 .

No other history is known so presumably it was scrapped after use by your father.

Hi, John,

Chris is correct regarding ex Ribble (1206) BRN 266, which was in an earlier batch than the PD2's. This batch of vehicles BRN 261 - 290 (2518 - 2547) new in 1948 /49, where infact Leyland PD1/3 with bodies by Burlingham of Blackpool. They where renumbered in 1950 and BRN 266 (2523) becoming (1206). The PD2's although very similar had detail differences and had bodies by East Lancs., Blackburn, these are listed by Geoff.

I understand (1248) was at the Manchester Muesum of Transport over the weekend of 20/21st October.
