The dismantling of 1793 is now gathering pace with parts recovery well advanced prior to final scrapping. The considerable decay to the bodywork is now plain to see, partly a legacy of many years spent outside and partly due to the characteristics of the Orion bodywork, although, of course, it was never designed to last the 49 years since it was constructed.

On Tuesday, 1793s engine was treated to a cleaning with a pressure washer.
Most of the parts required have now been removed from 1793.
