Does anyone knw it it ispossable to obtain the registration number of a bus that as been scrapped for use as a private plate for a car ? .

I think that you can only transfer a registration from a vehicle that is still "live" - still excists. If a vehicle has its registration number transfered it is then issued with an age related plate - if then it regains its original registration this cannot be changed again during the life of the vehicle.
The only way get a registration off a scrapped vehicle is possibly through the DVLA cherished number plate scheme and may cost more than transfering the number from an excisting vehicle. I have been quoted £80 fee for transfering a reg. number, but it may have gone up.

I was informing a very good ex driver friend of mine at lunchtime about the fate of Ribble DP fleet No 774 and he was wndering if he could obtain the reg No for himself.
