Having watched this evolve over the week I should explain that the bulkhead represents a major piece of work involving much measurement, drilling, cutting and a significant amount of bad language.

That Gerard can be quite irritable when things don't get finished and fitted as quick as he would like (good job it went in, I would hate to think what he would be like if it hadn't !!!..........)

Ray,

You are quite right the refitting of the bulkhead and rear window does represent a major milestone in 1397's long restoration. The complete rebuilding of the rear bulkhead was an unexpected task, and one which I think few preservationists would like to tackle on an Atlantean. Without Mark Prescott's patience and skill, Derek Fullerton's welding talents, and Geoff's support with his excellent metal prep and painting, it would not have been possible.

Many thanks to them. Next stage will be refitting engine, gearbox and radiator, and fitting of engine pods.

One day we will have the only survivor from Ribble's Park Royal Atlanteans back on the road!
